VOLUNTEER WITH US
(low season: 10th October 2022, to 24th April 2023)
This winter 2022-2023 we are looking for a small crew to serve our low season retreats.
We have space for a team of 7 full time volunteers and 1 coordinator. We are dividing our low season into 3 slots from the 10th of October 2022 until the 24th of April 2023.
During the low season, we have retreats almost every week at Shambala. They are smaller groups than during our high season and last for 2-4 nights on average.
This team of 7, will be asked to prepare the centre for the arrival of our guests, and will join our caterer in cooking for our retreats as well as cleaning, lighting up the evening sauna, shovelling snow, greeting our guests, picking them up from the nearby train station, and tending to our teachers.
There will be plenty of time between retreats to rest, take walks in the forest, saunas every evening, one’s own self yoga practice, and some guided classes too.
We are looking for volunteers from all walks of life, different ages and backgrounds, though we’re asking for a minimum of 22 years old to apply as a volunteer.
We are looking for 1 volunteer that can act as an assistant to our winter managers during the low season. This means coordinating, with the managers, the small team of 7 volunteers onsite, creating a volunteer schedule each week, and making sure that all tasks are done correctly.
Typical work hours during retreats is 5 hours per day.
Typical work hours in between retreats is 3 hours per day.
As this role has a little more responsibility than the rest of the team, it is free of charge. You will have your own accommodation in a comfortable van. You will have access to our sauna, yoga sala and big community kitchen and dining room.
As part of the exchange, you will be able to eat from our delicious buffet during retreats, as well as attending one retreat class per day.

Are you the handy person who will help us this autumn?
