Treatments offered by teachers during a retreat are free of charge. Massage tables are available on site.

When setting your price, we recommend a teacher fee of max 1 000 SEK per person/night (incl. VAT).
For trainings or multi-teacher retreats, up to 1 500 SEK/night (incl. VAT) is appropriate.

This is our guidance based on what guests typically accept—but teachers are welcome to price according to their audience.

ADDITIONS

KIRTAN – High Season only-
(1550kr + 25% vat)

Johan Svanborg leads kirtan (group chanting of Sanskrit mantras) regularly at Shambala for free when he is on site. However, if you wish to guarantee this service in your retreat and book Johan in advance, we ask for a small surcharge to honor his time. Please get in touch with us if you want to make sure your group receives this beautiful sharing.

RE-WILDING – High Season only
(675kr + 25% vat per person)

Your retreat guests can take the chance to go on a 4-5 hour walk and guided excursion with Wild Sweden, to connect to the forest and the animals in the purest way. There will be a chance to learn about our wild life, sit by the campfire, jump in the lake, do some journaling and walk in silence.

Admin Kit
(1950kr + 25% vat)

For this small surcharge, we can take care of all your bookings:
– Taking bookings via our e-commerce website
– Invoice customers individually
– Send customers an information welcome email
– All customer service questions
– Make note of their pick up timings from the train station
– Make note of their food allergies ahead of time

Treatments for guests

If you would like treatments to be available for your guests during their stay, please let us know in advance, and we will do our best to arrange for a bodyworker to be at Shambala.
Please note that the prices for these treatments may vary depending on the type of service and the practitioner.

VOLUNTEERS & COMMUNITY
(During Catered Retretas Only)

While we have a small core staff, Shambala runs largely through the dedication of our volunteer team. As a way to honor their contribution, we invite them to join one class per day during their free time.

To support this, we ask all teachers to open one class daily to our community:

  • Max 4 volunteers in the Shakti Hall

  • Max 2 volunteers in the Buddha Hall
(Unless the space is fully booked with your guests)

Please let us know in advance if this is an issue for your retreat.

Guests are also invited to support the community through a simple act of seva (selfless service): washing their own dishes. This shared gesture helps unite those who serve and those who receive into one mindful community. Thank you.

TEACHER DOWN PAYMENT & CANCELLATION POLICY

To confirm your booking, we ask for a 35% deposit based on the minimum number of guests. This deposit is fully refundable if cancelled more than 5 months in advance. Cancellations made less than 5 months before the start date are non-refundable.

There is a 550 SEK + 25% VAT fee to publish your retreat on our website. We highly recommend this, as it gives you free exposure through our regular social media posts and newsletters.

You’ll receive your invoice after the retreat ends, with a 10-day payment term.

FINAL CLARIFICATIONS

Check-in for guests is between 3:00–5:00 PM. Check-out is at 3:00 PM.
Teachers are welcome to arrive at 1:00 PM to go through practicalities with our team and share a light snack with the community at 2:00 PM.
Please inform us of your arrival time at least 48 hours in advance.

We offer an optional bus pickup from Arlanda Airport for large groups:
– Large bus (up to 40 people): 7 500 SEK incl. VAT
– Small bus (up to 16 people): 5 500 SEK incl. VAT
Please inquire for availability.

We kindly ask for a 5-minute welcome talk at the start of your first group session.

Shambala observes silence between 9:00 PM and 10:00 AM, including silent breakfasts. This is a sacred time for stillness. Let us know in advance if this is an issue.

We’re happy to arrange a ceremonial fire in the sweat-lodge area. Fires must never be left unattended. Please request this in advance.

We are not responsible for guests’ or teachers’ forward travel arrangements after their retreat.

To reduce our ecological footprint, we ask guests to bring their own sheets. Rentals are available for 200 SEK (incl. tax). Teachers receive sheets and towels free of charge.

Laundry service is available for retreats of 10+ days at 100 SEK per bag incl. VAT.

Our printer is not for guest or teacher use. Please print all manuals and handouts before arrival.

Though we are surrounded by nature, we have one nearby neighbour. Please keep music at moderate levels, and notify us in advance if your retreat includes dance or louder activities. Silence is observed after 9:00 PM.

You are welcome to set your own guest cancellation policy. If using our Admin Kit and booking through our website, the Shambala cancellation policy will apply.

Please contact us if you wish to have a 15min “discovery call” with us, where we explain our terms and conditions to you.

Thank you for booking with Shambala Gatherings!
