THE INTENTION
“Rest as a Ritual” is an invitation to come home to yourself, your body and a regulated nervous system. Explore how living in ritual and deep restorative yoga practices guide you back home to your most rested version of self. Melt deep into relaxation and let yourself be supported by the beautiful nature around you.
Most of us live very busy lives and have unlearned how to truly rest and just be. In this retreat you will be gently guided back into slowness. Remember in your bones that restfulness is your most natural state of being.
You deserve to rest. You deserve joy. You deserve to be at ease.
THE FOOD
Inspired by the Indian Ayurvedic health tradition, our kitchen serves delicious and nutritious food that is vegan, gluten-free, and made primarily with organic ingredients. Meals are often enjoyed on the sunny deck overlooking the lake. We are happy to accommodate dietary allergies—please inform us when making your booking.

LOCATION AND ACCOMMODATION
Shambala Gatherings is a beautiful retreat center and yoga community in the heart of the Swedish forest, just two hours from Stockholm. The area is easily accessible and perfect for a wildlife getaway.
The dense forests of Bergslagen around Skinnskatteberg offer an excellent opportunity to experience Sweden’s wildlife. Along with its abundant flora and moss-covered landscapes, you may encounter the majestic moose, or elk, in its natural habitat. The lakes and rivers are also home to beavers, and the region is one of the best in Sweden for spotting wolves, bears, lynx, and owls.
One of the highlights of your stay will be the floating sauna, beautifully situated by the lake for a soothing experience.
Accommodations at Shambala are simple and clean, with options to share a room with one or two others, or even try our glamping tents. Rooms are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
You can view our accommodation options below.

Sue-Ana’s retreat was a complete work of art: beautiful yoga classes, delicious vegan food, and a lovely place to stay. Sue is a fantastic teacher with a pleasant voice, a creative approach to teaching, and a lot of empathy. I definitely recommend her.
Coming home to myself, feeling my body and my connection to mother earth touched me on the deepest level.
What really stood out was the attention to detail in the schedule, the yoga practices and the rituals. The atmosphere was so beautiful and I am already looking forward to the next retreat!
