All classes and activities during this retreat will be held in English.
Begin the year in a soul-nourishing way: music, yoga, sauna ritual, sharing circles, somatic awareness practices, artistic expression, ceremonial celebration and more!
Our on-demand and very popular new years retreat is happening once more, combining music, embodiment, ceremony, community, nervous system regulation and artistic expression— all that we need to awaken our heart in the midst of winter.
Many have had enough of the typical new years celebration and chose to transition into a new year in a sacred, contemplative, yet celebratory way, where you actually feel rested and filled up with inspiration once you return home to start your year.
It’s the 7th year we’re holding this special event, and we’re proud of the momentum and creation we’ve built up throughout the years.
Some of the new offerings this year is a sauna ritual—combined with optional ice bathing, a very unique and cleansing experience.
The focus of this retreat is to take a sacred pause during this special transition of the year, move into your body, slow down, nourish yourself and step into a tender ceremonial space where you get to be with your sacred self in contemplation and setting sacred intentions for the coming year.
Everything is taken care of for you, three yummy vegan meals, a hot cup of tea is always available, and you will have plenty of sweet, loving company.
We love the wintertime here at Shambala as it holds such a peaceful stillness.

“The energy is so so clear, deeply heart centred. And the intent with which Shambala is held is so beautiful, it has become a massively important of my life”.
Shambala has a special place in my heart. Each time I’m there, I feel so happy to have found it and so nourished by the experience. The connections; the kindness; the honesty; the laughs. I feel like it shapes me into the best version of myself. Then there’s the food, the forest, the sauna, the lake, the time to play and just be… It’s hard to leave, but easier for me this time, as I’ll be coming back again in October. So much gratitude, so much love.
“This is where the magic happens – together, with open hearts in beautiful nature.”
This place is made for those who want to rest, recharge their batteries, seek themselves out. The connections you make here will stick with you for the future. This place will do you good.
SOMATIC MOVEMENT THERAPY
A way of being with yourself and your body that regulates your nervous system and brings you into deeper presence in your body. In movement therapy you let go of tensions, integrate life, and express what your body holds on to so that it can be released from your body.
ARTISTIC EXPRESSION
Vedic art is a way to explore your inner world of visions, longings and emotions on a canvas. You don’t have to have any previous experience with painting. On the contrary, the less you know about how to paint the better. You will be gently guided into expressing whatever wants to flow from your heart onto the canvas.
KIRTAN
Kirtan (extatic singing) is a way to connect your heart with others and then feel the divine presence together. It’s a way to cleanse the dust we all gathered on top of our pure being and to channel our emotions towards higher power and blissfulness.
THE YOGA
Our yoga is oriented towards slow and deep movements, which allows your body and mind to relax, thereby releasing deep inner tension. The healing aspect of our classes happens through moments of rest and being present with yourself. The foundation of our yoga is to be soft and mindful as you move your body, allowing you to be more present to what is happening inside and coming to know yourself and your inner processes deeper.
