YANDARA YOGA TEACHER TRAINING …”YANDARA SYSTEM”
Yandara’s system and workshops will offer simple, yet profound, steps to realize that you are an amazing yogi, and a great teacher! Yandara Yoga Institute states the meaning of a truly inspiring, heartfelt, and intuitive teacher training that will take you deeper into yourself, as well as further into the world.
Your training will include practice teaching time with personal feedback from teachers and peers, basic pose alignment, hands-on-assists, as well as cueing from the heart. You will learn to guide your students to be aware of their sensations and how to move safely in the pose. Yandara offers both open style yoga classes and set sequences. You will get all the tools you need to create an inspiring yoga class!
One of the highlights of our program is the variety of yoga classes you will experience. We offer Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga, Yin and Restorative Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, as well as the occasional Qi Gong practice.
Every program includes a day of solo-meditation in nature followed by deep breath work and relaxation.
Authentic, heartfelt communication, as well as increased understanding of oneself and others, are essential aspects of a yoga teacher. Communication skill workshops are part of every training as a way of practicing self-inquiry (svadhyaya) and cultivating a natural state of compassion.
An important part of the Yandara training is understanding and developing our caring, compassionate nature, this a big part of unveiling the radiant teacher inside.
Our training program allows you to learn a significant amount of information quickly; you will embody the knowledge and become a qualified yoga instructor.
The curriculum at Yandara meets and exceeds the Yoga Alliance guidelines. Graduates of Yandara Yoga Teacher Training will be eligible for Yoga Alliance 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Certification. For more information about this, click here.

Christopher has the gift to bring his students through fun and challenging flow sequences while cultivating the shared awareness that is Yoga. His style is dynamic and intuitive, mixing creative movement with a powerful asana practice. Christopher’s passion for yoga philosophy and yoga psychology is a part of his daily life and weaves naturally into his teachings.
Christopher was raised at the SKMC Meditation Center in Bowling Green, Virginia. He requested initiation to a meditation practice at age 4, and while he led a “normal” childhood, he studied with Sant Darshan Singh until age 16. In his early twenties, after attending VCU for fine arts, he spent two years as an apprentice of John P. Milton, training in Sacred Passage (wilderness meditation) and QiGong. This time of deep transformation included several solo wilderness retreats, ranging from 2 to 28 days. In 2005, Christopher travelled to India and Nepal, where he attended teachings and undertook extensive practice in Vipassana Meditation and Tibetan Buddhist Meditation.
Christopher founded the Yandara Yoga Institute with his father Craig Perkins in 2003. Since that time he has been facilitating Yoga Teacher Trainings, and continues to inspire and grow with each person he meets.
Christopher has studied with many inspired yogi’s across the world, including a 500-hr training with Dharma Mittra, as well as trainings with Guru Dass (Kundalini Yoga), Daniel Odier (Kashmirian Tantra), Shiva Rea (Prana Vinyasa®), Hanneli Francis (Anusara), Baba Hari Das of the Mount Madonna Center, T.K.V. Desikachar (Yoga Therapy), and senior Iyengar teachers Kevin Durkin, Victor Oppenheimer and Gloria Goldberg. Christopher is a registered YACEP® – Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider.
Daya Nam, E-RYT 500
Daya Nam is trained in Hatha, Vinyasa, Restorative, and Kundalini Yoga. Her inspiring presence and teaching style is authentic, refined, and infused with grace. Through a transformative combination of asana, breath, meditation, and chanting she guides you to develop your intuitive mind, leaving you uplifted, inspired, and in awe of your radiance.
At age 18, Daya Nam left her home in Sweden with a thirst for deeper understanding of herself through yoga and the ancient cultures of the world. She spent the following 6 years traveling, with 3 long stays in India. During this time a lifelong romance with meditation and yoga was born which led her to complete her first Yoga Teacher Training with Yandara Yoga Institute in 2006. The experience was transformational and she shortly returned to study and work at Yandara.
Through the years, she has continued to deepen her studies of yoga, she studied extensively with Shiva Rea and is a certified Prana Vinyasa® teacher, she has taught regularly at yoga studios and teacher trainings across the world, and is co-founder of “Yoga Treats” studio. In 2012, Daya Nam returned to live at Yandara’s home base in Baja, Mexico, where she thrives in the yoga life style and conscious community.
Daya Nam holds a degree in Physical Therapy, the deep understanding of anatomy and physiology is an invaluable support in her profession as a yoga teacher and teacher trainer.
After diving deep into various styles, Daya Nam found her way to Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan®. The inner peace, spiritual experiences and physical healing she has gained through Kundalini Yoga has lead to a passion to share these teachings. Daya Nam has found that Kundalini Yoga not only strengthens the major systems of the body but also efficiently develops intuition and the deep trust in life that is so greatly needed in these times.
Off the mat, you may find Daya Nam admiring nature, walking her dogs on the beach, enjoying the pulse of a city, studying spirituality, and making delicious raw treats for community potlucks. Daya Nam is a KRI certified teacher of Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan® and a registered YACEP® – Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider.
Daya Nam feels immense gratitude to her teachers: Guru Dass Singh Khalsa (Kundalini Yoga), Sat Purkh Kaur Khalsa (Kundalini Yoga), Sat Siri Kaur (Kundalini Yoga), Shiva Rea (Prana Vinyasa®), Fran Ubertini (Krishnamacharya lineage/Therapeutics), Angela Farmer & Victor Van Kooten (Underground Yoga), Sarah Powers (Yin & Vinyasa), Biff Mithoefer (Yin), Kevin Durkin (Iyengar Yoga), Corrin Adams (Hatha), the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Organization (Hatha), and always in spirit, the Siri Singh Sahib Harbhajan Singh Khalsa Yogiji for making the sacred technology of Kundalini Yoga available at a time when it is so needed.
