“Immerse yourself in the tenets of yoga, through daily asana workshops, philosophical study and meditation. ”
“Lizy always got me fired up with her dedication and kindness. Her flows are strong and rejuvenating. She is radiating from within and it ripples out in her classes.” – Simona Marini
The idea for the retreat was born from a wish to combine two different schools of yoga in such a way as to deepen our understandings of the practice and our bodies, with the belief that yoga is a path to self-understanding. Practice will be followed by discussions on the teachings and the physicality so as to offer the chance for us all to take it deeper and further. And what better place for such a journey than by a beautiful lake in Sweden??!! It will be both therapy and adventure, and I hope you will join me there.
We will start each day by opening up the body through the breath with a vigorous vinyasa style practice. We will then break to enjoy some delicious locally sourced organic vegan nourishment. Afterwards, we will get straight back to the studio and delve deeper into the study of yoga. The afternoon workshops will entail an in-depth exploration of daily topics both physical and philosophical. Every session will end with pranayama and meditation. All levels of experience are welcome and I will offer variations to cater for everyone, including those seeking therapy for injuries.
The rest of your leisure time can be spent immersed in the beautiful Scandinavian nature, canoeing on the lake, horse riding through the forest or unwinding with some massage therapy.
2 x 90 min yoga classes per day
3 locally sourced vegan and gluten free meals per day

Originally born in London, I spent half of my childhood in the East and half in the West. I have always loved movement, especially the creative arts of dance and trapeze which serendipitously lead me to yoga. Teaching since 2011, my classes imbibe the strong alignment focus of Iyengar, interplayed with the dynamic sequencing of Jivamukti. I like to use physical assists to help the practitioner explore the full capacity of their anatomical and subtle body. I always encourage students to look within and remain compassionate to their needs. When I’m not in the studio, you can find me exploring on my bike, tasting the delights of London markets, dog spotting in the parks or enjoying time with my pals.
“Lila’s classes on her Scandi lakeside retreat were everything I would expect from a Jivamukti teacher and more: dynamic, athletically demanding flows underpinned by an excellent knowledge of the asanas and experience teaching a wide range of abilities. She adds a wicked sense of humour to her lessons too! She challenged me while not letting me get away with any of my bad habits and I came away from the retreat feeling utterly revived, both mentally and physically – I was buzzing for days afterwards.” – Rosa Cembrowicz, June 2017
